The National Democratic Congress (NDC) senatorial candidate for Abia South Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections, Dr. Kasarachi Michael Enyinna, has declared that his ambition is driven by equity, fairness and the need to ensure inclusive political representation across the district.
Enyinna, who made the declaration during an appearance on People’s and Politics, a live political programme on Magic FM anchored by veteran journalist Ben Nwatu, also pledged to attract greater Federal Government presence to Abia South and promote an enabling business environment in Aba.
Speaking on his senatorial ambition, the businessman maintained that every part of Abia South deserves a fair opportunity to produce a senator, stressing that political leadership should not be monopolised by any particular area.
He specifically pointed out that Ukwa West Local Government Area has yet to produce a senator representing Abia South, describing the situation as a gap that should be addressed in the interest of fairness and political inclusion.
According to him, his aspiration is not motivated by a desire to occupy the Senate seat indefinitely but by a commitment to equitable representation and meaningful development.
“My ambition is based on equity, and I can’t be in the Senate for 20 years,” Enyinna declared.
The NDC candidate further promised to prioritise the attraction of Federal Government projects and development initiatives to Abia South if elected in 2027.
He noted that the district requires increased federal attention, particularly in infrastructure development, economic empowerment and other initiatives capable of improving the living conditions of residents.
Enyinna expressed his determination to use the legislative platform to engage relevant federal authorities and advocate for projects and programmes that would stimulate economic activities and accelerate development across the senatorial district.
Speaking on the economic potential of Aba, popularly known as Enyimba City, Enyinna pledged to collaborate with relevant government agencies and stakeholders to improve the ease of doing business in the commercial city.
He described Aba as the economic nerve centre of Abia State, renowned for its entrepreneurial spirit, manufacturing activities, trading and contributions to the state’s economy.
Drawing from his experience as a business owner in Aba, the senatorial hopeful said he understands the challenges confronting entrepreneurs and investors, stressing the need for policies and interventions that would create a more business-friendly environment.
“As an Aba boy, we will partner with relevant agencies to ensure that the business community enjoys an enabling environment and improved ease of doing business,” he stated.
He maintained that supporting businesses in Aba would encourage investment, stimulate economic growth, generate employment opportunities and further strengthen the city’s position as a major commercial and industrial hub.
Enyinna reiterated his commitment to pursuing equitable representation, attracting federal development projects and promoting economic opportunities across Abia South if given the mandate to represent the district in the Senate in 2027.
