Ebonyi State governorship aspirant, Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, popularly known as Anyichuks, has declared that he will not step down for Governor Francis Nwifuru ahead of the 2027 governorship election, insisting that he enjoys widespread support across the state.

Speaking during an interview on Arise TV on Thursday, Anyichuks accused Governor Nwifuru of panicking over his political ambition, describing the governor’s conduct as unbecoming of his office.

According to him, his decision to contest the 2027 governorship election was influenced by calls from the people of Ebonyi State, despite his earlier plans to pursue studies at Harvard University.

“I was about going to Harvard University before Ebonyians called me to come and contest for the governorship election in 2027,” he said.

The governorship hopeful maintained that he remains a popular candidate in Ebonyi State and would not abandon his ambition under any circumstances.

Speaking on his economic agenda, Anyichuks promised to transform Ebonyi State through industrialisation, investment and job creation.

He disclosed that his background in production and manufacturing would enable him to attract over 2,000 business associates and investors to the state if elected governor.

According to him, such investments would stimulate economic activities, create employment opportunities and improve the living conditions of Ebonyi residents.

Anyichuks also pledged to tackle poverty and prioritise education, stressing that every child in Ebonyi State deserves access to quality education.

“I will wipe off poverty in Ebonyi State. Our children must go to school,” he declared.

Addressing questions surrounding his business activities, the governorship aspirant maintained that his businesses are legitimate, claiming that no petition has been written against him.

On national politics, Anyichuks declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027 and urged his supporters across Ebonyi State to equally support the President.

He also identified the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as his national political leader, aligning himself with the faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) associated with the former Rivers State governor.

His declarations come amid growing political activities and realignments in Ebonyi State ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the governorship contest expected to attract significant attention.
