Leadership is not about who makes the loudest promises, commands the biggest crowd or shares the most palliatives. It is about capacity, character, experience and courage.
For Ukwa East/West, where our people demand better opportunities, stronger representation and real development, leadership cannot be treated as a seasonal political adventure.
Ukwa cannot continue to lower the standard for choosing who speaks for us in Abuja. Our youths need a future, our communities need genuine attention beyond campaign visits, and our people need a representative who understands how government works and can attract development. This requires preparation and proven capacity, not just popularity.
This is why the candidature of Chief Barr. Sam Okezie Nwogu deserves serious attention. As a former Local Government Chairman, former ASOPADEC Chairman and former Abia Representative on the NDDC Board, he has seen governance from different levels. That exposure is an asset Ukwa should not ignore.
The conversation must move away from personality attacks and temporary inducements to real issues; Who can attract federal opportunities? Who can confidently speak for Ukwa in Abuja? Who has the experience to engage MDAs and demand results for our youths, women and businesses?
Ukwa deserves purposeful, accessible and accountable representation. The people must demand more and refuse to let momentary excitement decide a future that will last four years.
Chief Barr. Sam Okezie Nwogu is presenting himself for service. The people will ultimately decide, but one thing must remain non-negotiable, Ukwa must choose capacity over noise, character over packaging and purposeful leadership over empty promises.
