The people of Umuiku-Isi Asa Autonomous Community have pledged their total and unalloyed support for Chief Samuel Okezie Nwogu, APC candidate for Ukwa East/West Federal Constituency in the January 16, 2027 general election.

The declaration was made during the unit meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held in Umuiku-Isi Asa on Thursday and hosted by one of the leaders of APC in the community, Hon.Ekwuzie Erondu.

Speaking on behalf of the community, the Ward Chairman, Hon.Chino Ahuruonye, an APC stalwart, Chief Henry Okere, the LGA Officer of the party, Hon. Mrs. Nnenna Godfrey, noted that Chief Sam Nwogu remains the only leader who remembered Umuiku-Isi Asa when others abandoned them.

They recalled with gratitude some of the landmark interventions facilitated by Chief Nwogu in the community during his tenure as Chairman of the Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ASOPADEC), which include; the construction of Ahia Nkwo Market, extension of electricity to the nooks and crannies of Umuiku-Isi, construction of a modern community civic hall, donation of school desks for pupils, award of scholarships and facilitation of job opportunities for indigenes of the community.

The community leaders also appreciated one of their illustrious sons and leader of the APC in the Ward, Chief Sir Don Ubani, for his exemplary leadership qualities and for facilitating several projects to the community, declaring their total loyalty to him as their leader.

Also speaking, the Youth President of the community, Mr. Ugochukwu Ahuruonye and a Cabinet Chief in the community, Chief Onwukwe Okere, commended the APC candidate for his heart of generosity and kindness, assuring him of their support and commitment to mobilize all sons and daughters of Umuiku-Isi Asa at home and in the diaspora for his victory.

Responding, Chief Samuel Okezie Nwogu thanked the people of Umuiku-Isi Asa for their love and solidarity. He assured them that what he did as ASOPADEC Chairman was borne out of his passion for grassroots development and promised to do more in the areas of infrastructure, empowerment and quality representation when elected into the National Assembly.

He also commended the leader of the APC in the Ward, Chief Sir Don Ubani and other illustrious sons of the community for their support and encouragement, while assuring them that he will not disappoint them.

The APC candidate was accompanied to the meeting by a former Sole Administrator of ASOPADEC and Secretary General of the Campaign Council, Barrister Henry Chilaka, a former Executive Chairman of Ukwa West, Hon. Goodluck Nwobiwe, Hon. Chetachi Ahukanna, Hon. Innocent Chiuwa, Comrade Ugwumba Adiele, among other members of the Campaign Council.
