Former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, FNSE, FNICE, FNTIHE, has condoled with the Man-Ugwueje family of Ukome Isieke Ibeku, Umuahia North Local Government Area, over the death of their son, Squadron Leader Ahamefule Aham Man-Ugwueje, who died in a Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash.
In a condolence message to the family, Orji described the death of the Air Force officer as painful and untimely, noting that his passing had left his parents, young wife, siblings, relatives, colleagues and the wider Ibeku community in deep grief.
He said the loss was particularly heartbreaking because Ahamefule had only recently begun a new chapter of his life in marriage.
“No parent should have to contemplate burying a son whose life was still unfolding, whose dreams were still taking shape, and whose future held so much promise,” Orji stated.
The former Speaker described the deceased as more than a son to his family, saying he was also “a son to Ibeku, an officer to the Nigerian Air Force, and a servant of his fatherland.”
According to him, although Ahamefule’s life was cut short, the honour with which he lived and served his country would remain a lasting testament to the values instilled in him by his family.
Orji urged the bereaved family to draw strength from God and the memories of the deceased, stressing that no words could adequately erase the pain of losing a loved one.
He also extended his condolences to Ahamefule’s young wife, siblings, relatives, colleagues in the Nigerian Air Force, friends and the entire Ibeku community.
He prayed that God would grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss, comfort the deceased’s young wife, strengthen his parents and grant Squadron Leader Ahamefule Man-Ugwueje eternal rest.
