Nigeria’s voter register has risen to about 103 million registered voters, with Lagos State recording the highest number of registered voters ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The latest figures indicate that Lagos leads with 7,488,633 registered voters, followed by Kano with 6,570,276 and Kaduna with 4,662,640.
The figures, released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), provide a snapshot of the size and demographic composition of Nigeria’s electoral register ahead of the next general elections. INEC is currently undertaking measures to strengthen and clean up the voter register ahead of the polls. 
The 10 states with the highest number of registered voters are:
Lagos — 7,488,633
Kano — 6,570,276
Kaduna — 4,662,640
Katsina — 3,876,051
Rivers — 3,736,434
Oyo — 3,588,111
Delta — 3,525,988
Benue — 3,052,225
Ogun — 3,037,981
Bauchi — 3,012,547

The voter population is made up of 53,528,218 males and 49,700,497 females.
By age distribution, voters aged 35 to 49 years constitute the largest group, with 43,265,946 registered voters.
They are followed by:
18–34 years: 29,777,576
35–49 years: 43,265,946
50–69 years: 22,986,900
70 years and above: 7,402,291
INEC has said it is continuing efforts to strengthen the integrity of the register. The Commission previously announced plans for a voter revalidation exercise as part of measures to clean up and improve the register ahead of the 2027 elections.
