Chief Daniel Osi Orbih, a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and political ally of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has died.
Orbih, who hailed from Edo State, reportedly passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026.
The announcement of his death was contained in a statement issued on behalf of the Orbih family by Francis Udukhomoi Orbih, Esq.
The family, while announcing the death, described the deceased as a beloved brother, husband, father and uncle, saying it received the loss with profound sadness and submission to the will of Almighty God.
The statement read in part: “With profound sadness and a heavy heart but in total submission to the will of the Almighty God, the family of Chief M.C.K. Orbih announce the passing of our beloved brother, husband, father and uncle, Chief Daniel Osi Orbih.”
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Florence Orbih; his children, Ms. Winifred Anwosiobor Orbih and Dr. Mildred Omonemi Orbih; his brothers and sisters, as well as other members of the extended family.
The family appealed to relatives, friends and well-wishers to remember them in their prayers as they mourn the painful loss.
It said further details about the funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
Orbih was a notable figure within the PDP and was widely associated with the political camp of Wike, with whom he maintained a strong political relationship.
The family prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul.
