The Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, has declared that the time has come for him to represent the people of Bende in the House of Representatives.
Anyaso made the declaration while responding to questions from journalists shortly after his endorsement by the Organised Labour and Civil Society Organisations.
The Labour Party candidate said the people of Bende Federal Constituency had resolved to change the political narrative in the constituency by giving another candidate an opportunity to represent them at the National Assembly.
According to him, the people have decided that it is now his turn to serve as their representative in the Federal House of Representatives, assuring that he would prioritise the interests and development of the constituency if elected in 2027.
Speaking on the performance of the incumbent member representing Bende Federal Constituency and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, Anyaso accused him of underperformance and alleged that the constituency had not received adequate dividends of democracy from the Federal Government under his representation.
He maintained that Bende people were ready for a change in representation, stressing that the 2027 election would provide an opportunity for constituents to choose a new direction.
On concerns over possible electoral manipulation, Anyaso assured the people of Bende that efforts to rig the election would not succeed.
He urged voters to remain committed to exercising their democratic rights, expressing confidence that the people would freely choose their preferred candidate at the polls.
