The New Wave Liberation Agenda Movement has endorsed Hon. Chief Samuel Okezie Nwogu, Esq., as its preferred candidate for the 2027 Ukwa East/West Federal Constituency election.
The endorsement was made at a stakeholders’ meeting attended by representatives from Ukwa West (Asa Clan) and Ukwa East (Ndoki), alongside Executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC), community leaders, and members of the Movement.
Speaking at the meeting, Elder Ezedinachi Kanu said the group was united by a common goal of promoting effective representation and development across Ukwa.
“We are united by one objective to promote effective representation, development and political inclusion for the people of Ukwa,” Ezedinachi said.
Responding to the audience, Chief Nwogu thanked the Organization for their support and reaffirmed his commitment to quality representation, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, employment and increased Federal presence in the Constituency.
“I remain committed to pursuing quality representation for the people of Ukwa, with emphasis on infrastructure development, youth empowerment, employment opportunities and increased Federal presence,” he said.
He formally received and approved the New Wave Liberation Agenda as a grassroots mobilisation platform, pledging to work with its members and other stakeholders ahead of the 2027 election.
Other speakers, including Hon. Henry Chilaka, Comrade Charles Ekeke, Pastor George Obuneke and Comrade Uju Nwogu, expressed support for the initiative and Nwogu’s candidacy.
Hon. Tony Mezie Nwaubani, who delivered the vote of thanks, appreciated the stakeholders for their participation and called for continued unity, describing Hon. Nwogu as a square peg in a round hole.
The stakeholders resolved to embark on door-to-door sensitisation and mobilisation across Ukwa East and Ukwa West, while promoting unity, peace and empowerment opportunities.
The event ended with a renewed commitment to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and support the Movement’s political objectives ahead of the 2027 general election.
