The Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, has congratulated the women of Bende Local Government Area on the successful hosting of their 2026 August Women Meeting held at the Bende Local Government Headquarters on Monday 17th August 2026.

Anyaso, who joined the women at the annual gathering, commended them for sustaining the tradition of unity, fellowship and community development through the August Meeting.

He described the gathering as an important platform for women across the various communities in Bende to come together, strengthen their bonds and deliberate on issues affecting their families and communities.

Speaking at the event, Anyaso also emphasised the importance of honouring agreements, ans said it was alarming that people will deny an agreement they were part of.

He urged individuals and leaders to learn to keep to commitments made to others, noting that agreements should not be respected only when they are convenient.

“In 2019 when they accepted the agreement, it was in their favour but they never knew that table can turn and now what they agreed upon is hurting them”

According to him, people must learn to honour agreements, as keeping one’s word builds trust, strengthens relationships and promotes peace within society.

“It was in this Land of People that the agreement was made that after Ikwuisi 8years, an Umunna man will go to the House of Representatives, I have offered myself for this task and I know that with your support, I shall win the election because we are standing on a just cause “

Anyaso further appreciated the women for their warm reception and continued contributions to the development of Bende, assuring them of his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote the welfare, empowerment and progress of women across the Federal Constituency.

Earlier the wife of the Governor of Abia State Mrs Priscilla Otti who was represented by Dr Ezinn Kalu charged the women to continue to support the good works of Dr Alex Otti as she assured them of more projects that will impact directly into their communities.
