All Concerned Stakeholders Forum comprising members across Ikwuano/Umuahia North/South LGAs have called for total support for Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji, the APC candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia North/South Federal Constituency describing him as a tested legislator whose experience, legislative competence and record of grassroots intervention position as a compelling choice for the Federal House of Representatives in 2027.
The Stakeholders led jointly by Prince Okechukwu Ubani from Umuahia Central State Constituency and Chief Jerry Awa from Ikwuano State Constituency maintained that Orji is not merely another candidate seeking political office, but a seasoned parliamentarian whose already demonstrated capacity for leadership as a former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly remain undisputable.
They argued that at a time when the constituency needs purposeful, effective and result-oriented representation at the Federal level, sending an experienced legislator to the National Assembly would be a strategic decision rather than an experiment.
The stakeholders stressed that the National Assembly requires legislators who understand parliamentary procedure, legislative strategy, negotiation, advocacy and the politics of securing resources and opportunities for their constituents.
“With his experience on the floor of the Abia State House of Assembly, including his tenure as Speaker, Orji has already acquired the legislative skills and institutional understanding required to function effectively in the House of Representatives”, Chief Awa, who is also Abia APC Youth Leader,’ proffered.
“The All Concerned Stakeholders Forum therefore believe that the question before the constituency is not simply who wants to go to Abuja, but who has the experience, capacity and political maturity to make the constituency’s voice count when critical decisions are being taken.
The Stakeholders further argued that the 2027 mission should be clear: replicate and scale a proven culture of intervention by attracting federal attention, projects, programmes and funding to communities across Ikwuano and Umuahia.
The focus, they said, must include roads, water, electricity, schools, healthcare, youth empowerment and other interventions capable of directly improving the quality of life of constituents.
They also argued that representation must go beyond speeches and occasional political appearances.
They therefore urged voters to collectively vote for and defend the votes for Orji, a representative who would remain accessible to the people throughout the four-year tenure.
The objective, they said, is to ensure that every community can communicate its needs, track legislative interventions and know what its representative is doing on its behalf.
Attracting Federal Infrastructure
The stakeholders also want a representative who understands how to deploy the National Assembly’s budgetary and legislative instruments to attract development to the constituency.
They believe Orji’s legislative experience would position him to pursue federal roads, electricity and water projects, while also advocating for the completion of abandoned or stalled federal interventions within Ikwuano and Umuahia.
They stressed that representation should translate into tangible projects that communities can see and citizens can benefit from.
One of the strongest arguments advanced by the stakeholders is Orji’s record as Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly.
They recalled that his tenure demonstrated that the legislature could work constructively with the executive without abandoning its constitutional responsibilities.
The stakeholders said Orji’s tenure showed that executive-legislative cooperation, when built on mutual respect and a shared commitment to public interest, can produce meaningful results.
They also pointed to legislation under his leadership, including the Disability Law and the Diaspora Law, as evidence of a legislature capable of responding to emerging social and economic realities.
For them, this is an important distinction: effective legislative leadership is not about being a rubber stamp. It is about providing constructive oversight, passing people-oriented laws and ensuring that government policies ultimately serve citizens.
They argued that political representation should not end with speaking on the floor of the legislature. It should produce direct and measurable impact in the lives of ordinary people.
According to them, Orji’s approach has been to identify practical needs and intervene directly where possible, rather than waiting exclusively for government-wide programmes.
They believe that this philosophy could be deployed at the federal level to ensure that Ikwuano/Umuahia North/South secures its fair share of national opportunities, projects and resources
They argued that these interventions demonstrate an understanding that development is ultimately measured not by political rhetoric but by its impact on human lives.
For the stakeholders, the 2027 election therefore presents the constituency with an important choice.
They believe the constituency needs representation anchored on experience rather than experimentation; competence rather than political rhetoric; accessibility rather than distance; and measurable results rather than promises.
Their message is consequently direct: Ikwuano/Umuahia North/South deserves a representative who already understands the legislature, knows how government works and has demonstrated the capacity to translate public office into tangible impact.
In their assessment, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji possesses that combination of legislative experience, political maturity, grassroots connection and developmental vision.
They are therefore urging constituents to rally behind his 2027 aspiration and support what they describe as a new opportunity to take tested legislative experience from the state floor to the federal floor.
For Ikwuano/Umuahia North/South, the stakeholders insist, 2027 should be about raising the standard of representation — and they believe Rt Hon Chinedum Orji is positioned to do exactly that.
