Senator Austin Akobundu has reaffirmed his commitment to the socioeconomic development of Abia Central Senatorial District with the installation of solar-powered streetlights in Eze Amara Street, Eziama Ntigha, Isiala Ngwa North LGA.
The project has significantly enhanced nighttime security and transformed the area with a safer, more welcoming ambience.
Residents expressed gratitude to Senator Akobundu, noting that the street was previously plunged into darkness after dusk, forcing many indoors early. But with the new lights, residents can extend business hours at their respective locations as movement back home at night is now safer. They commended the senator’s wide distribution of streetlights across the senatorial district and pledged support for his political aspirations.
In his message to the people, Senator Akobundu reiterated that leadership is about service and that he is committed to providing quality leadership. He urged residents to protect the installations from vandalism and assured that he would continue to explore ways of continually improving the welfare of the people.
Senator Akobundu, who is also the ADC Candidate for Abia Central Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections, has completed similar solar streetlight installations in the following locations across the senatorial district:
