Two suspected robbers have been apprehended at MCC Junction in Aba after allegedly stealing from a Point of Sale (POS) operator and attempting to flee the area.
The victim told newsmen that she had locked her booth and briefly stepped out to buy food. On returning, she was informed by nearby traders that unknown individuals had broken into the booth and stolen her bag containing business funds, a mobile phone, and other personal belongings.
Eyewitnesses said the suspects were spotted while trying to escape. A soft drinks vendor in the area reportedly raised an alarm, drawing the attention of traders and passersby.
According to witnesses, the suspects boarded a motorcycle in an attempt to flee but were pursued and apprehended by members of the public.
The suspects were later handed over to officers at the World Bank Police Division for further investigation.
Meanwhile, the victim has appealed to the police authorities to help recover her stolen money and other missing belongings.
