The Founder of the Evansino Humanitarian Foundation, Ambassador Emmanuel Josiah, has paid a condolence visit to the family of late Miss Wendy Achumba following her tragic death in Imo State.
Miss Achumba, a student of the College of Nursing, Umulogho in Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State, was reportedly killed in her apartment on Thursday after completing her midwifery programme and while undergoing post-basic training. The incident has thrown her colleagues, friends, and members of the public into deep mourning, with many describing her as a diligent young woman whose promising future was cut short in painful circumstances.
The deceased, who hails from Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State, was born into the family of Elder Jerry Nmerigini Achumba.
During his visit to the bereaved family, Ambassador Josiah expressed profound grief over the tragic loss and offered prayers for strength and comfort for the family as they navigate the difficult period. He assured them of his continued support and solidarity in their time of sorrow.
As part of his humanitarian intervention, he also pledged financial assistance to help support the family during the mourning period, reaffirming his commitment to standing with families affected by painful and unexpected tragedies.
Ambassador Josiah, who is also from Obingwa LGA, described the incident as deeply heartbreaking and devastating, especially given the deceased’s dedication to her academic pursuit and aspirations in the medical profession.
The condolence visit took place at the family residence near the United Evangelical Church area in Ogbor Hill, Aba, where relatives, sympathizers, and friends gathered in grief to mourn the untimely passing of the young nursing student.
