The endorsement was announced during a courtesy visit to Dr. Anyaso at his country home in Igbere.

Speaking on behalf of the group, the Coordinator, Godwin Ndom, said the decision followed extensive consultations and a unanimous agreement among members.

He noted that the move was partly influenced by the goodwill of the Otti administration, particularly the recent settlement of arrears owed to former elected councillors dating back to 1999.

The group also pledged to mobilise grassroots support across the 13 wards of the constituency in favour of both Dr. Anyaso and Governor Otti, vowing to demonstrate visible political solidarity.

The motion for the endorsement was moved by Kelechi Ejike of Umuimenyi Ward and seconded by Ekechukwu Isaac of Item Ward B.

In his response, Dr. Anyaso expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him and urged the councillors to remain steadfast and committed to their resolution.

He emphasised the need for consistency in sustaining the endorsement, assuring them that he would not take their support for granted.

He reiterated his readiness to build on previous achievements and provide effective representation if elected, pledging not to disappoint the people of Bende Federal Constituency.

In separate remarks, Nkechi Emenike, Ekechukwu Isaac, and Iheanyichukwu Asiegbu commended Dr. Anyaso’s philanthropic efforts and humanitarian interventions across the constituency.

They described his candidature as a collective project aimed at rewarding and encouraging his contributions to community development.

The councillors reaffirmed their commitment to delivering victory for both Dr. Anyaso and Governor Otti in 2027, stressing that all available political structures would be deployed to achieve that goal.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the Forum of Former Elected Councillors of Bende Local Government Area (1999–2022) reiterated its commitment to good governance, equitable power rotation, and quality representation.

The forum affirmed the zoning arrangement within the constituency, noting that it is the turn of Bende North (Umunna) to produce the next member of the House of Representatives in 2027.

It therefore called on political parties to zone their tickets accordingly, pointing out that Bende South (Ikwuisii) would have completed its tenure by June 2027 under the current representative, Benjamin Okezie Kalu.

The group formally adopted Dr. Anyaso as its sole candidate, citing his widespread acceptance, grassroots engagement, and sustained empowerment initiatives across Bende.

It also expressed appreciation to Governor Otti for settling outstanding entitlements owed to former councillors, describing the gesture as a demonstration of responsive and people-oriented leadership.

Reaffirming its political stance, the forum pledged total support for Governor Otti’s re-election bid, aligning its “Otti or Nothing” mantra with Dr. Anyaso’s “Otti Again 2027” movement to secure victory at the polls.

The communiqué concluded with a call on stakeholders and residents of Bende to uphold the principles of equity, fairness, and unity by respecting the zoning arrangement and supporting the emergence of a candidate from Bende North in the 2027 elections.

The communiqué was signed by members of the Forum of Former Elected Councillors of Bende LGA (1999–2022).
