Kalu, who represents Bende Federal Constituency, is said to have concluded plans to contest in the upcoming election, setting up a potential political contest with the incumbent governor, Alex Otti.

According to a source who spoke on the condition of anonymity, the decision has already been finalized and communicated to key stakeholders and close aides.

“Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu will be running for the Abia number one seat. The decision has been taken and was made public this morning to key stakeholders and aides,” the source disclosed.
