A chieftain of the Labour Party in Abia State, Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, has reassured stakeholders in Bende Federal Constituency that there is no division within the party, urging members to remain steadfast in their support for the administration of Alex Otti.

Speaking during a stakeholders’ meeting in Bende, Anyaso commended party faithful for their loyalty and continued commitment to the Labour Party, noting that unity remains critical to the party’s success ahead of the 2027 general elections. He encouraged members to mobilize their friends and well-wishers to participate in the ongoing electronic registration exercise of the party, describing it as a vital step toward strengthening its grassroots structure.
The Labour Party stalwart expressed confidence that the party would eventually present a credible and competent candidate to represent Bende Federal Constituency, stressing that leadership must be driven by humility, integrity, and empathy for the people.
According to him, public service requires individuals who understand the needs and struggles of citizens and who are willing to act in the collective interest rather than personal or family interests. He emphasized that the constituency deserves a representative with a clean record and proven character.
Anyaso also highlighted the importance of integrity in leadership, drawing parallels between personal credibility and public trust. He noted that institutions, including financial organizations, place confidence only in individuals with verifiable records of responsibility and accountability.
Looking ahead to the 2027 elections, he assured party members that the Labour Party would prioritize merit and competence in selecting its candidate, adding that the process would be conducted in harmony and fairness among stakeholders.

The meeting also featured the distribution of relief materials, including bags of rice and other support items to party members, as part of efforts to appreciate their loyalty and sustain engagement within the constituency.
He concluded by urging members to remain united, continue supporting the state government, and trust the party’s internal processes to deliver the best possible representation for the people of Bende Federal Constituency.
