In a press statement released earlier today, Kwankwaso expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity to serve as the party’s National Leader and its presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections. He described his time in the party as an honour but admitted that his decision to leave was not an easy one.
The former governor cited the current political direction of the country as a key reason for his exit, noting the need for “strategic realignment” and alignment with a platform that offers a stronger chance to drive meaningful national change.
Kwankwaso also extended gratitude to the party’s National Chairman, Ajuli Ahmed, the National Working Committee, and supporters of the Kwankwasiyya movement for their loyalty and commitment.
Despite his resignation, he emphasized the importance of continued collaboration among political stakeholders in building a better and more prosperous Nigeria.
Further details about his next political move are yet to be announced.
