Former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Mr Peter Gregory Obi, is set to officially join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.

According to sources close to the development, Obi will defect to the ADC alongside Senator Tony Nwoye, who represents Anambra North Senatorial District, as well as several other top members of the Labour Party in Anambra State.
Meanwhile, a loyalist of Peter Obi and former Secretary to the Anambra State Government, Oseloka Obaze, has already announced his defection to the ADC, further fueling speculations of a major political realignment in the state.
