In an official statement issued by his Media Adviser, Uchenna Awom, the Senator described the circulating story as “false and misleading,” noting that no such incident took place.

The statement clarified that the Nigerian Senate does not hold plenary sessions on Fridays, making the alleged confrontation impossible.

“Under the standing rules of the Nigerian Senate, plenaries are not held on Fridays. Therefore, no such sitting or confrontation could have occurred,” the statement read.

Awom further stressed that Senator Abaribe did not utter any of the quotes being circulated online, adding that the remarks were entirely fabricated.

He reaffirmed the Senator’s commitment to legislative decorum, dialogue, and constructive engagement, emphasizing that Abaribe does not engage in personal attacks or provocative conduct within the National Assembly.

The public and media practitioners were urged to verify information from credible sources before sharing, to prevent the spread of misinformation.

Senator Abaribe, according to the statement, remains focused on his constitutional responsibilities and on serving the people of Abia South Senatorial District with integrity and professionalism.
