The appointment, which takes immediate effect, also names Uzodimma as Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement and Mobilisation. In this role, he will work closely with the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and governors to promote the administration’s programmes across the country.
As Renewed Hope Ambassador, Uzodimma—who currently chairs the Progressive Governors Forum—will coordinate strategic communication efforts, ensure inclusiveness within the party, and mobilise support nationwide. APC governors will also serve as “Ambassadors of Hope” in their respective states.
President Tinubu urged Governor Uzodimma to help disseminate and amplify the administration’s achievements since taking office in May 2023. The presidency highlighted improvements in inflation, stabilisation of the exchange rate, increased foreign reserves—now reported at over $46 billion—and rising investor confidence reflected in growing foreign investments and a booming stock market.
Other areas noted include diversification into solid minerals, expanded educational loan access for over 700,000 students, and faster passport processing timelines.
The President expressed confidence that the new ambassador will strengthen public awareness of key reforms under the Renewed Hope agenda.
