The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Timipre Sylva, former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and ex-Governor of Bayelsa State, wanted over alleged involvement in a case of Conspiracy and Dishonest Conversion of $14,859,257.

According to a public notice issued by the EFCC and signed by Dele Oyewale, Head of Media & Publicity, the funds in question were part of monies injected by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) into Atlantic International Refinery and Petrochemical Limited for the construction of a refinery.
The notice, dated November 6, 2025, was issued pursuant to a warrant from the Lagos State High Court.

The EFCC urged anyone with useful information about Sylva’s whereabouts to contact any of its offices across the country or report to the nearest police station or security agency.
Sylva, 61, hails from Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
