The Abia State Police Command has arrested a 68-year-old woman, Mrs. Victoria Madubuko of Ndiambe Ozuitem in Bende Local Government Area, for allegedly flogging a 22-year-old girl, Miss Nnenna Eke, to death.

According to the Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, who briefed journalists at the Command Headquarters in Umuahia, the suspect reportedly used a native cane, popularly known as “Okpete”, on the victim after an altercation.
The police boss disclosed that Miss Eke later fell ill from the injuries she sustained and was rushed to Tochi Hospital, where doctors confirmed her dead.
He added that the body of the deceased has been deposited at a mortuary in Akaelu, Bende LGA, while the suspect, Mrs. Madubuko, is in police custody.
CP Isa further revealed that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Umuahia, for thorough investigation.
