A PDP group from Abia North Senatorial District, Abia North PDP Youth for Equity and Justice (ANYEF) has called on the leadership of the peoples Democratic party (PDP) in Abia State to find it worthy to zone her Governorship ticket to Ohafia LGA, the LGA is the largest in terms of population in the senatorial district.

In a communique issued at the end of her meeting held in Umuahia, the state capital, the group noted that at this point in time that the party is no longer in power and struggling for survival, having lost the last election it is very pertinent that the party will harmonize and look for an LGA in Abia North that has the numbers and zone her ticket there, since it has been agreed by all stakeholders that it’s the turn of Abia North Senatorial District to produce the next Governor of Abia state in 2027.

They stated that from the records available, Ohafia is the largest LGA in Abia North both in the area of population and land mass and equity demands that it’s the turn of Ohafia to have the ticket since Bende LGA gotten their turn between 1999 and 2007.
Ohafia LGA has the highest number of voters and they cut across every nook and cranny of Abia State.
Our records also shows that out of the 5 LGAs that made up the distinct, it is only Ohafia that haven’t gotten any reasonable elected position despite contributing the highest number of votes that has been delivering the party for years(this christened them with title of Nde Olu Vote). Unlike Umunneochi that has gotten Senate for 12 years, Arochukwu has gone to Senate, Isuikwuato has gone to Senate, Bende Governor for 8 years and Senate for 8 years.

The group emphasized that it will be tantamount to injustice if Ohafia is denied the governorship ticket and the party may not be able to recover from the consequences.

The group used the opportunity to express satisfaction and confidence on the state working committee led by Elder Amah Abraham urging them to maintain justice and equity for the party to succeed.

Long live our great party, the PDP!
Long live Abia State!
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
